With the 2022 Town of Innisfil municipal election just under a month away, the Innisfil District Association (IDA) and Rotary Club of Innisfil in partnership with the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library are excited to announce an all-candidates meet-and-greet followed by a mayoral and deputy mayoral debate.

The event is taking place at the Lakeshore branch, 967 Innisfil Beach Rd., on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. It is an opportunity for residents to meet the candidates and learn about their platforms. The meet-and-greet will be followed by a mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates debate. This moderated debate will pose questions to the four certified candidates running for mayor and deputy mayor here in Innisfil and will provide an opportunity for questions from the audience.

“The Innisfil District Association works for effective, transparent and accountable local government,” said IDA president Deborah McGrath. “It’s so important to create opportunities for Innisfil’s residents to get informed and participate in the democratic process.”

The evening’s questions will be compiled from a variety of sources and will be presented to both the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates by IDA president and volunteer Deborah McGrath in a traditional debate format. There will be questions on topics that matter most to Innisfil residents, ranging from the environment to leadership to fiscal responsibility and more. The event will be recorded live by Rogers TV.

Donations for the Troy Scott Community Fridge are welcome.
