25 new COVID cases in Simcoe County today, including Innisfil girl

The region's health unit has confirmed 26 new cases of COVID-19 today, 25 of which are Simcoe County residents. 

There are nine new cases in Barrie, including one boy under 18. The other eight cases include three men and one woman between 18 and 34 years old, two women between 35 and 44 years old, and two women between 45 and 64 years old. Two of the cases are attributed to close contact transmission and the remaining seven are under investigation. 

There are four new cases in Innisfil included in the health unit report today, and they include one girl under 18 (close contact), a man and a woman between 18 and 34 years old, and a woman between 45 and 64 years old. The latter three cases remain under investigation. 

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reports four new cases in Adjala-Tosorontio, including a man and a woman between 18 and 34 years old and a man and a woman between 45 and 64 years old. All four cases are under investigation. 

There are three new cases in Ramara today, including two boys under 18 and a man between 18 and 34 years old. Those cases are under investigation. 

The remaining five Simcoe County cases include a Bradford West Gwillimbury man between 35 and 44 years old, an Essa woman between 45 and 64 years old, a New Tecumseth woman between 35 and 44 years old, an Oro-Medonte woman between 18 and 34 years old, and a Severn woman between 18 and 34 years old. The Severn and Oro-Medonte cases were attributed to close contact, and the other cases are under investigation. 

The single Muskoka case reported today is a Bracebridge man between 18 and 34 years old whose case is attributed to close contact.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 1,207 cases of COVID-19, with 1,130 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,012 cases listed as recovered. Two people are currently hospitalized. The health unit has recorded 47 deaths.
