3 new COVID cases in Innisfil today

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed 38 new cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County today.

Among the new cases reported today is a woman between 18 and 34 years old from Collingwood. Her case is reported as community-acquired. She is the eight case reported from Collingwood this month. 

A Clearview woman, also between 18 and 34 years old, has also tested positive for COVID-19. Her case transmission is still under investigation. 

There are 19 new cases in Barrie, including three girls and two boys under 18 years old. One of the youth cases is linked to a community setting outbreak (hockey team) and the others are linked to close contact.

Other Barrie cases include three women and one man between 18 and 34 years old, one woman and a man between 35 and 44 years old, and one woman and six men between 45 and 64 years old. Four adult cases are linked to close contact transmission, one is connected to a congregate setting outbreak, three are community-acquired and the remainder are still under investigation. 

There is one new case in Springwater – a woman between 18 and 34 years old. The case transmission is still under investigation.

There are three new cases in Innisfil today involving three men, one between 18 and 34 years old, one between 35 and 44 years old, and one between 45 and 64 years old. Two cases are reported as community-acquired and one is linked to close contact. 

There is one new case in Essa, a man between 45 and. 64 years old, whose case is community-acquired. 

There are three new cases in Bradford West Gwillimbury today, including a girl under 18 (community-acquired), a man between 45 and 64 years old (under investigation), and a woman over 80 years old (close contact).

There are also three new cases in Oro-Medonte today – two men and a woman between 45 and 64 years old – all are linked to close contact.

There's one new case in Severn, a woman between 45 and 64 years old, and the transmission source is still under investigation. 

There is one new case, a boy under 18 years old, in Adjala-Tosorontio today. The case is still under investigation. 

Lastly, the health unit reported four new cases in New Tecumseth, including a boy under 18 whose case is linked to a community setting outbreak. The other three cases, still under investigation, include a man between 35 and 44 years old, a woman between 45 and 64 years old, and a man over the age of 80. 

There is one new close contact case in Muskoka today, a Gravenhurst woman between 18 and 34 years old, which brings the total number of new cases in the region today to 39. 

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 2,021 cases of COVID-19, with 1,929 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,735 cases listed as recovered in the region. Thirteen people are currently hospitalized, all are Simcoe County residents. The health unit has confirmed 52 deaths since March.

The incidence rate for Simcoe County is 358 cases per 100,000 people. With a seven-day average of 29.2 cases per 100,000 people in a week. The region's reproductive rate shows every person who contracts COVID-19 transmits it to 1.1 other people, and testing data shows 2.1 per cent of people who are tested in the region test positive for COVID-19.
