Three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in schools in Barrie and Bradford on Tuesday.

One new case has been reported at Bradford District High School, with one classroom closed. There have now been seven cases reported at the school since September, however six of those cases have since recovered.

Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie is reporting one case, with one classroom closed.

St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie is reporting one new case and classroom closure. This adds to two cases already reported at the school over the weekend.

Two Barrie schools were declared in outbreak by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit over the weekend, at Warnica Elementary School and Willow Landing Elementary School, which is also located in the city's south end, on Big Bay Point Road.

An outbreak at a school is defined by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or staff (or other visitors) with an epidemiological link (i.e. shared space or objects with each other), within a 14-day period, where at least one case could have contracted COVID-19 in the school (including transportation and before/after school care).

The schools all remain open.

The school boards and the health unit have not reported whether the individuals are students or staff members.
