TORONTO, ON – The future looks grand for Rugero Cristiano of Cookstown! Rugero matched five numbers plus the Grand Number to win the top prize of $1,000 a day for life with Daily Grand in the March 30, 2020 draw. Rugero opted for the lump sum prize of $7 million.

The 52-year-old checked the winning numbers on OLG.ca while relaxing on the couch. "I teared up and woke up my wife to tell her the good news. She didn't believe me!" Rugero laughed, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque.

"It is a blessing to know that my kids and family are taken care of," the father of three smiled. "It is a joy that my wife and I are now able to live our lives without any worries."

Rugero, now newly retired, plans to put his windfall towards travel and charitable donations.

"We are humble people. This win isn't going to change us," he shared. "We want to give back."

The OLG Prize Centre in Toronto has resumed in-person prize claims for winning-ticket holders of $50,000 or more by-appointment only. To best protect customers and staff, OLG has put in place appropriate health and safety protocols in accordance with guidelines from public health officials, which include physical distancing measures, the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the pre-screening of visitors before granting entry. Future announcements will be made as to when OLG will open appointments to others wishing to claim their prize in-person at the Prize Centre.
