South Simcoe Police Service is reminding residents that the province's extension on renewing Ontario driver's licences remains in effect.

However, if your licence plate or driver’s licence expired before March 1, 2020, you do not qualify for a renewal exemption.

That means occasional use, summer vehicles and motorcycles coming out of storage now are not exempt.

The exemptions were implemented to limit in-person visits to ServiceOntario locations unless absolutely necessary. Some locations are operating with reduced hours.

Where possible, motorists are encouraged to use the Ministry of Transportation's online services.

If you can't access the services online, you can call Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. excluding holidays 416-326-1234 or Toll-free 1-800-267-8097TTY: 416-325-3408Toll-free TTY: 1-800-268-7095.

Details on exemptions here https://www.ontario.ca/page/extended-validation-periods.
