Local student rubs shoulders with paramedics

Danica Smith received a certificate, first-aid bag and stethoscope, and also took part in a mock exercise with county paramedics

Innisfil student Danica Smith was recognized by Simcoe County council on Wednesday as this year's honorary Paramedic for a Day contest winner.

Smith is a Grade 6 student at Sunnybrae Public School in Stroud.

She received a certificate, first aid bag and stethoscope, and also took part in a mock exercise with county paramedics.

"Congratulations, Danica. You have all the traits to become a tremendous paramedic," county officials said in a release.
