Nottawasaga River harbours many wild delights (18 photos)

The main branch of the Nottawasaga cuts 121 kilometres through Simcoe County

Waterfowl were on full display during a recent paddle through the Nottawasaga River.

Kayakers, canoeists, fishers and paddle boarders came in and out of the launch at Klondike Park, not far from Highway 26, many going to the tiny Jack's Lake, which is popular among fishers, and back or into the Minesing Wetlands, or headed out in the other direction to Wasaga Beach.

The main branch of the Nottawasaga cuts 121 kilometres through Simcoe County, from Alliston in the south, meandering through the 15,000 acres of the Minesing Wetlands, and spits into Georgian Bay via Nottawasaga Bay at Wasaga Beach.

It is also home to a vast population of flora and fauna.
