The following is a letter from Skydive Toronto Operations Manager Joseph Chow in response to the fatal skydiving accident that occurred earlier today: 

The staff at Skydive Toronto are immensely saddened to confirm the passing of an experienced skydiver at our facility today. After five decades of focusing on safety, we still lost one of our own. Our hearts are broken by this tragic event.

We are assisting all authorities with their investigation into this accident. As such, it would be inappropriate for us to comment on any facts or opinions at this time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and those in grief from this occurrence.
