People who live and work in Innisfil can win a $100 gift card by supporting Innisfil’s businesses this month.

The Town of Innisfil is rallying community support for Innisfil’s businesses during the Province’s return to step 2 of the COVID-19 roadmap to re-open with a new, three-week Shop Local Innisfil campaign.

Residents and people who work in Innisfil can participate from Jan. 12 to Feb. 1, 2022, by taking a photo of their purchase from an Innisfil business and sharing their photo as a public post on Facebook with the name of the business and the hashtag #ShopLocalInnisfil in the caption.

Participation is also welcome on GetInvolvedInnisfil.ca. Eligible purchases include food, products, services, or gift cards from businesses currently closed to comply with the Province’s COVID-19 measures. Each week, the Town will select a prize winner from the week’s participants. Winners will receive a $100 gift card from an Innisfil business of their choice. The first draw will take place on Jan. 19, 2022.

“We know that many businesses in Innisfil have been affected by the ongoing and constantly changing measures in response to COVID-19,” said Innisfil Mayor Lynn Dollin. “These businesses do so much for our community, so it’s crucial that we come together to support them. By launching our Shop Local Innisfil campaign, we hope to encourage residents to continue shopping locally.”

The campaign is part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to support community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. When the pandemic began, the Town recognized the significant disruption and change caused by COVID-19 and initiated a Community Needs Assessment to gather local data about the needs of Innisfil’s residents.

Support for local businesses was identified as a significant community need and priority. Throughout the pandemic, the Town’s Economic Development team has provided direct support for local businesses and helped entrepreneurs and business owners access regional, provincial, and federal resources.

The Town continues to provide mentorship, business consulting, and resource navigation to Innisfil businesses in areas such as business and financial planning, e-commerce and digital marketing, COVID-19 funding, mental health, social media promotion, and more.
