Washrooms now open at Innisfil Beach Park

'The health of our crew members and guests is our top priority’

There has been another milestone, in the gradual reopening of the Town of Innisfil – one that will be appreciated by users of Innisfil Beach Park.

On Monday, all of the washrooms at Innisfil Beach Park were reopened to the public.

For those who are concerned about health and safety, Operations Business Manager Nicole Bowman had reassurance.

“Staff will be cleaning and sanitizing washrooms a minimum of two times per day, or when the bathroom becomes visibly soiled, as recommended by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit,” said Bowman.

That includes all "field staff," as well as some summer students who will be returning to work shortly, she said.

“In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have provided staff with additional training to make sure everyone is performing all their duties as safely as possible. Staff will have gloves and glasses and will maintain a safe distance at all times.”

The goal is to provide the needed amenities at the park, while maintaining high standards of safety.

“Without a doubt, we are ready and the health of our crew members and guests is our top priority,” Bowman said.

COVID-19 protocol signs are up on the doors of the washrooms, advising users to practice physical distancing - and to wash hands thoroughly.

Innisfil Beach Park isn't the only location that has seen reopening of washroon facilities.

"Cookstown Library outdoor washrooms and portable toilets are open," Bowman noted, although "no other outdoor washrooms are to open at this time."
