The public is being invited to participate in a pair of virtual meetings of Innisfil Council, on Wednesday evening.

The Special Meetings of Council begin at 6 p.m., with a Development Charges Public Consultation.

Development Charges (DCs) are the fees levied on new development, to cover the cost of growth-related expanded services and infrastructure, under the premise that “growth should pay for growth.”

Hemson Consulting Ltd. will present a DC Background Study, and members of the public who wish to address Council are asked to pre-register, by filling out a Development Charges public consultation form (click here).

The meeting will be live-streamed on the Town’s YouTube channel. Viewers can participate during the meeting by emailing [email protected] with any comments or questions, or calling 705-436-3740 ext. 2402.

The Background Study is being presented for information only, at this time. All comments received with be forwarded to staff for consideration, and a future report back to Council.

Following the DC consultation, Council will move into a Public Planning Workshop at 7 p.m., to consider future growth in the Town of Innisfil to the year 2051 – reflecting the County of Simcoe’s Municipal Comprehensive Review, that will assign new population growth targets to the County’s municipalities.

Again, members of the public can provide comments either by pre-registering and filling out an Our Growth Workshop Consultation Form (click here), or by emailing the Clerk’s Office during the live-streaming on You Tube, at [email protected].

More information on Our Growth can be found on the Get Involved town website.

Comments received at the workshop will be addressed by Planning Staff, and considered in a final report to Council.
