1953-2021
Early December 3, 2021 Linda’s courage and strength were no longer enough to extend her long fight against illness. Her passing leaves an enormous hole in the lives of her husband Murray, her sons Bradley (Sarah) and Westly Kent, her cherished grandchildren Evie, Xavier and Ethan and her siblings Maureen (Kirk), Bill, Robert and Ed. For the last few years, Linda enjoyed immensely her time with everyone and the time with her grandchildren was extra precious. She embraced every minute and did not let her instinct to do more for everyone temper the enjoyment.
Prior to her illness, Linda loved walking the fairways. Golfing in Ontario in the summer and somewhere without snow in the winter including a few years in Florida for the whole season. While having fun and enjoying the outdoors were key, Linda did record a hole in one in 2011. In true Linda fashion, she made sure to tell all other family golfers that she did it first!
Making her house a home played a big role in her life. Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Halloween would bring complete transformations for the family to enjoy. With a few birthday celebrations added to the calendar her home was in constant change. It did not stop with decorations, an occasional renovation and landscaping refinements were thrown in to make things better.
Linda’s love extended to the pups. To say they were spoiled might be an understatement. They too found themselves wrapped up in the Christmas festivities. An annual photo in appropriate garb was mandatory, and yes, they did stay still to let the photo happen.
Special thanks go to the many health care professionals who have been a part of Linda’s battle over the last few years. Their support and guidance was critical and appreciated.
No service or memorial will be held. If desired, a donation to a local Humane Society or the Cancer Society in Linda’s name would honour her.
