1923 ~ 2022 (age 98)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur King at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on March 1, 2022 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of Mildred nee Quan (deceased). Loving father of Douglas (Lisette), Gary (Carol Wright), Sandi (Roland Ho). Cherished Grandfather of Alexander, Mercedes & Matthew, Emmitt & Ryan. Survived by his older brother Dave (Lucy – deceased). Will be missed by many nieces & nephews.
Arthur graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to be a partner with Consulting Engineering firm Quan, Carruthers, King & Quan Ltd. They were highly successful and completed projects for Molson Breweries, General Foods & many more.
Arthur enjoyed vacationing with Mildred, family & friends and this gave him a balance in his life by offsetting the demands of his work, with the pleasure of seeing the world.
In his retirement, he enjoyed escaping to the cottage over the summer. He shared the idyllic “King’s Cove” on the French River in Alban, Ontario with many friends & family.
Arthur will be sadly missed by his extended family & friends.
Cremation has already taken place and Arthur’s remains will be buried beside Mildred at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto when conditions allow.
A Celebration of Arthur’s life will be held at Richmond Hill Country Club on Saturday March 12, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 8905 Bathurst Street, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 0H4 (905) 731-2800. Proof of Vaccination required and the wearing of masks is mandatory.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie would be greatly appreciated by the family.
