McCRUDDEN, Robert 'Rob'

After a courageous battle with cancer, Rob passed away peacefully on August 26th at the age of 70.  Dearly loved husband and best friend to Carol.  Proud and loving stepdad to Krista (Derrick).  Adoring and most fun loving grampa to Kaleb and Katie.  Special uncle to Lyndsay (Joey) and Ryan (Lauren).  Predeceased by his parents and his brother Walter.

Rob touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his fabulous story telling and his fantastic sense of humour.  He certainly knew how to give everyone a good belly laugh until tears rolled down our cheeks.  Even in his last few days, he told us his famous "Chuck Norris" story and had us laughing again. The moment was captured by Krista and is shared on our Memorial Video Tribute.

Rob was the Real Estate Broker of Sutton Group in Newmarket for over 30 years. His agents, staff and colleagues were his "other" family and he was the best role model for all of them.   His door was always open and he was an incredible mentor with his wisdom and calming influence.  A pillar of strength and a class act.

Robbie also loved his Toronto Maple Leafs and often talked about how he was there in person the last time they won the cup....he was15.  He loved hockey cards and collected them over the years and now with his grandson, in the past couple of years, they would fill binders of the Tim Horton collection.  Just last week, he told Kaleb the new cards were coming out Sept. 1st and to go with Gramma and get the new set.  The tradition will live on through his grandson.

An awesome guitar player, Rob spent many hours entertaining us or just playing for his own pleasure.  He also loved to gamble and was always ready for a little drive up to Rama or Georgian Downs.  He had the luck of the Irish and the luck of Sagittarius.  Sure enough, every time we went, he would win, I would lose.....and then being the generous guy he is, he'd bail me out. "Not fair",  I would say and then he'd give me one of his big smiley grins.

We will all miss this larger than life guy for his loving nature, soft side and positive influence on everyone's life.  Rest in peace my beautiful, beautiful man.  You are now free of your pain, go soar high above the clouds.

We all love you forever and ever and you will be missed so much.   Until we meet again. xoxo
