Surrounded by family, Jani went home to her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife and best friend of Andy for 57 years. Loved mother of Ed and Chris, Jackie and Cam, and Evelyn and Steve. Dear Oma to Maria, Josh (Jenn), Nico, Ellie, Kyle, Claire, Jude, and Willa.
Jani came to Canada in 1951, emigrating with her family from the Netherlands. Once married to Andy, they lived close to her parents and brother John in Shanty Bay. Jani enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was walking, tending to their large gardens, working on the apple farm, or just playing with her children and grandchildren.
Jani and Andy retired to the Tollendale Village. Jani was always busy with her second family at the Mission Store. Donating her time brought Jani great joy with cherished friendships.
Jani was strong-willed and determined in her life and faith. She was proud of her children and grand-children and treasured that she was able to see them all growing up. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A private service will be held at the Little Brick Cemetery in Oro-Medonte.
