Autopsy rules out foul play in Edgehill death

'Nothing suspicious was identified and we’re just awaiting the toxicology tests that are being conducted as well,' says police official

A post-mortem examination has concluded the death was not suspicious after a man's body was found Tuesday in the area of Cedar Pointe Drive and Edgehill Drive.

Barrie police were called to 141 Edgehill Dr., around 11 a.m., Tuesday after a 38-year-old man was found dead in a garden area.

Police remained on scene while the autopsy was conducted in Toronto, but Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said this is routine. Officers cleared the scene early Wednesday afternoon.

"Nothing suspicious was identified and we’re just awaiting the toxicology tests that are being conducted as well,” Leon told BarrieToday. “It's normal to hold the scene if there is a request for a coroner for something like that. But in this case, there was nothing out of the ordinary with respect to the post-mortem.”
