On Thursday, June 11, 2020 around 6:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of an assault at a home in the Holland Street East and Dissette Street area of Bradford.
Upon arrival, police learned that a man had been assaulted in his backyard by a suspect who accused the victim of stealing the suspect's property.
The suspect then forced his way into the victim's home and assaulted a woman inside. The suspect fled on foot. A short time later, a man attended the South Division police station to report the theft of his property and was arrested for the assault.
Charged with two counts of assault and unlawfully in dwelling house was 42-year-old Lorn Depatie of Bradford.
The victims did not seek immediate medical treatment. The investigation is continuing.
