Collision sends cyclist to hospital with serious injuries

South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was injured in a collision involving a pickup truck in Innisfil.

The collision occurred on Friday, June 26, 2020, at 9:50 a.m. at the intersection of 20th Sideroad and 6th Line.

The 72-year-old man riding the bicycle was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured and remained at the scene.

The road was closed for about two hours for collision reconstruction by Traffic Unit officers. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is asked to contact South Simcoe Police Service. 

The investigation is continuing.
