Driver charged with impaired after vehicle ends up in snowbank

On Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 at approximately 5:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Shore Acres Drive near Sideroad 20 in Innisfil.  

When police arrived, they located the vehicle off the road in a snowbank and a street sign knocked down. A short time later, a man matching the description of the driver returned to the scene and was arrested for impaired driving.

As a result of investigation, 25-year-old Joshua Lawless of Innisfil, was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. There were no injuries.

When you choose to drink and drive, you are choosing to put your own life and the lives of others in danger. If you are going to drink, don’t drive.
