Erratic driving leads to impaired charges

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle driving erratically in Innisfil.

A traffic stop was conducted on Innisfil Beach Road and Innisbrook Street and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 53-year-old Peter Veber of Woodbridge was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Canada Road Safety Week is underway and we urge all drivers to do their part for road safety. In 2018, approximately one-in-five fatal collisions were reported to have alcohol involvement as a contributing factor. Please drive safe and drive sober. It's #NotWorthTheRisk.
