A former member of Nottawasaga OPP has ranked up with the Dufferin detachment.
John Buligan has been promoted from sergeant to staff sergeant and has been transferred from Nottawasaga to Dufferin.
A 27-year veteran of the force, he has also worked at the Aurora and Caledon detachments in a variety of units, including the Emergency Response Team, Urban Search and Rescue, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Response Team, Crime Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Street Crime Unit.
Buligan has worked in the Dufferin detachment area for a number of years as team leader for the Community Street Crime Unit.
“I look forward to building on the ongoing successes at the Dufferin OPP detachment in all areas of policing,” Buligan said in a news release.
Insp. Terry Ward, Dufferin OPP commander, said the detachment looks forward to Buligan’s “leadership and dedication in serving our communities.”
