Loaded handgun discovered in Springwater Township search

SPRINGWATER TWP, ON - On Oct. 29, members of the Huronia West OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) and the Tactical Response Unit (TRU) executed an early morning search warrant at a residence in Springwater Township.   

Officers seized two illegal firearms from inside the home including a loaded handgun. 500 grams of cocaine and 7000 Percocet pills were also seized.  The street value of the illegal drugs is approximately $75,000. A large quantity of Canadian currency and illegal marijuana products was also seized. 

Three men from Springwater Township and two women from Barrie, all in their 20's, have been charged with numerous firearm and drug trafficking offences. All three men were held for bail court in Barrie.
