Multi-vehicle collision sends three to hospital

South Simcoe Police Service officers are investigating a multi-vehicle collision in Innisfil that sent three people to hospital.

On Monday, May 17, 2021 at approximately 7:30 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Highway 400 and Innisfil Beach Road for a report of a collision.

Once on scene, officers learned that a Chevrolet Aveo travelling westbound on Innisfil Beach Road crossed the centre line, clipped an eastbound Chevrolet Spark and then collided head-on with an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck. The man driving the Aveo was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The man driving the pickup truck and his male passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The woman driving the Spark was uninjured.

Innisfil Beach Road was closed for several hours for collision reconstruction by Traffic Unit officers.
