The intersection of Mapleview and Bayview in south-end Barrie is closed this evening as city police investigate a collision where multiple pedestrians were hit.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m., Thursday.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator Jennett Mays told BarrieToday several people have been taken to hospital.
“There appears to be one vehicle and multiple pedestrians injured. Several people were taken to hospital,” she said.
Mays said no further details were available and that roads remain closed in the area. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
The collision happened as fans were heading into the Barrie Colts game, which started at 7:30 p.m.
