Police charge two Newmarket women in Innisfil hit-and-run

The South Simcoe Police Service has charged two Newmarket women after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene in Innisfil.

On Wednesday, March 22, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to collision where a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in the area of Highway 89 and Highway 400  in Cookstown. 

The vehicle had left the scene. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested two Newmarket women and laid charges related to the incident including fail to stop after accident and dangerous operation.

Both were released with a future court date. The 35-year-old man who was struck was treated in hospital for minor injuries and released.
