NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE
************************
South Simcoe Police Service is reporting early results from our All Hands On Deck safety campaign. Today marks the opening of all 24 schools in Bradford and Innisfil following a staggered resumption of classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Every available officer is patrolling school zones this week in order to keep students safe. Our early report card gives top marks to children, parents/caregivers and school staff for the orderly manner in which school started under very different circumstances this year due to the pandemic.

However, during the past three days, officers have issued about a dozen tickets including speeding and three stunt driving. In addition to enforcement, a number of warnings were also issued as part of the education component of our back-to-school safety campaign. Drivers need to slow down, especially in school zones. Our enhanced enforcement will continue through next week. Everyone plays a role in road safety.

For those who obey the speed limit and respect the rules of the road, please keep up the good work. Let's make this a safe and happy school year.
