Police seeking public's assistance identifying suspects in Cookstown tool theft

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information on the incident is asked to contact police

The South Simcoe Police Service is appealing for the public's help to identify two suspects in a theft of tools.

Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., two male suspects attended the Home Hardware store in Cookstown and left with a quantity of tools without attempting to pay. An employee narrowly avoided being struck by the suspect's vehicle which drove towards the employee as it exited the parking lot. No one was injured.

  • Suspect 1 - Male, white, brown hair, 5'10", 180 lbs, 30-35 years old (vehicle driver)
  • Suspect 2 - Male, Black, black hair, black beard, 5'10, 180 lbs, 30-35 years old (passenger)
  • Suspect Vehicle - champagne-coloured, Chevy, four-door, sedan

The South Simcoe Police Service is releasing security camera images in an effort to identify the suspects.
