South Simcoe Police Service is kicking off the 2020 Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign with a message for motorists. There is no excuse for driving impaired and we have heard them all including, ”I'm just going down the road," or ”I'm okay. I just had a couple,” and this one, "But I'm a nice person. Ask anyone on my street!"

The pandemic has brought many changes but it has not impacted our resolve to stop impaired drivers and keep our roads safe. We will be out in force and are urging members of the community to call 911 if you see driving that could jeopardize the safety of other motorists or pedestrians.

This holiday season, make a plan before you party. You have many options. Make the right choice for yourself, your loved ones and the loved ones of others.

Just like everything else this holiday season, the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign will look a little different. Officers will be wearing face masks and gloves while maintaining social distance during RIDE stops.  The campaign runs from Nov. 27, 2020 to Jan. 2, 2021.
