South Simcoe police warn against election sign theft, vandalism

Tampering with signs can lead to criminal charges

The South Simcoe Police Service is reminding the public that tampering with election signs is a criminal offence.

Damaging, vandalizing or stealing election signs could result in charges of mischief to property and theft under the Criminal Code. Tampering with signs on private property can also result in trespassing charges.

Anyone with information regarding election sign theft or vandalism is asked to contact the South Simcoe Police Service at 905-775-3311, 705-436-2141, or contact Crime Stoppers.
