SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE

On Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to reports of the sound of gunshots in the area of Blue Dasher Boulevard in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Once on scene, police confirmed that a shooting had occurred. No one was injured. During the investigation, investigators determined that this incident was connected to another shooting that occurred in the City of Toronto earlier that same day.
As a result, a joint investigation commenced with Toronto Police Service Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force. The suspect was quickly identified. On Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, the suspect was arrested and charged with various firearm-related offences and subsequently held pending a bail hearing.
The South Simcoe Police Service would like to thank the community members who assisted police with this investigation.
