Wheel flies over Hwy. 400, injuring three (4 photos)

Charges are pending in the incident, says OPP official

At about 12:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, a wheel separated from a Chevrolet Sonic travelling southbound on Hwy. 400 at Hwy. 89 in Innisfil, bounced into the northbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Tacoma.

The three occupants of the Tacoma were taken to hospital, however there were no serious injuries and all three occupants have since been released.

According to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, charges are pending against the driver of the Sonic.

“I have not yet heard whether those charges have been laid at this point or what those charges may be,” he said.
