4 new COVID cases at Holy Cross Catholic School

This adds to three cases and one classroom closure previously reported at the school

There are six new COVID-19 cases being reported in Simcoe County schools today, four of which are at a single school.

Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil is reporting four new cases today. This adds to three cases and one classroom closure previously reported at the school.

St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie is reporting one new COVID-19 case today. This adds to two cases and three classroom closures previously reported at the school.

Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham has one new case and one classroom closure reported today. This adds to one case previously reported.

There are three Simcoe County schools that have active outbreaks declared by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit: Our Lady of Grace in Angus, Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford and Andrew Hunter Elementary School in Barrie.

According to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit site, an outbreak is declared at a school when student and/or staff have confirmed COVID-19 cases that can be linked to the educational setting.

As of March 18 at the Simcoe County District School Board, there are currently 15 active COVID-19 cases:

  • One case at Allandale Heights Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closure
  • Three cases at Ferndale Woods Elementary School in Barrie
  • One case at Sunnybrae Public School in Innisfil, with one classroom closed
  • One case at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie with one classroom closed
  • Two cases at Portage View Public School in Barrie, with one classroom closed
  • Three cases at Andrew Hunter Elementary School in Barrie, with one classroom closure, outbreak declared Mar. 9
  • One case at Chris Hadfield Public School in Bradford, with one classroom closure
  • Two cases at Fieldcrest Elementary School in Bradford, with two classroom closures
  • One case at W.C. Little Elementary School in Barrie, with one classroom closed

At the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, there are currently 33 active COVID-19 cases:

  • Holy Cross Catholic School in Innisfil has seven cases, with one classroom closed, reported on Mar. 17
  • St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Innisfil has one case and no classroom closures, reported on Mar. 15
  • St. Mary's Catholic School in Barrie has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 13
  • St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie has two cases and two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 16
  • Father F.X. O'Reilly Catholic School in Tottenham has two cases, and one classroom closure reported on Mar. 17
  • Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Angus has four cases and two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 16, outbreak declared Mar. 14
  • St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School in Barrie has two cases and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 10
  • St. Charles Catholic School in Bradford has one case and one classroom closure, reported on Mar. 8
  • The Good Shepherd Catholic School in Barrie has two cases and two classroom closures, reported on Mar. 7
  • Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Barrie has three cases with two classroom closures, reported Mar. 14
  • St. Mary's Catholic School in Collingwood has one case, with one classroom closure, reported Mar. 3
  • Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Bradford has four cases, with three classroom closures, reported on Mar. 12, outbreak declared Mar. 2
  • St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School has three cases, with three classroom closures, reported on Mar. 17

The health unit will contact those who are considered to have had high-risk exposure to a known case of COVID-19.
