Public Health Ontario is again noting previously unreported cases of COVID-19 in today’s update.
The agency has reported 192 new cases of COVID-19 plus 223 cases that “were impacted by a laboratory-to-public health reporting delay.”
Overall, the total cases confirmed in the province rose by 415 today, bringing the cumulative total for the province to 30,617 cases.
The province is reporting 19 deaths today, including one person between the ages of 40 and 59, four people between the ages of 60 and 79, and 14 people over the age of 80.
Of the total number of cases reported in the province, 79.2 per cent are recovered (24,252), and 2,426 people have died, which is 7.9 per cent of the people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Ontario.
There are 635 people hospitalized with 117 patients in intensive care and 92 patients on ventilators.
Since yesterday, Public Health Ontario has reported 19,374 more tests processed.
In Canada, as of yesterday, there were 95,057 confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 reported to date, including 7,773 deaths (8 per cent) and 53,614 recoveries (56 per cent).
Of the total cases in the nation, 87 per cent of the deaths and 95 per cent of the cases are reported from Quebec and Ontario.
The breakdown by province according to Canada.ca as of June 6 is as follows:
- Newfoundland and Labrador: 261 cases and three deaths
- Prince Edward Island: 27 cases and zero deaths (no new cases in 14 days)
- Nova Scotia: 1,058 cases and 61 deaths
- New Brunswick: 136 cases and one death
- Quebec: 52,624 cases and 4,970 deaths
- Ontario: 30,202 cases and 2,407 deaths
- Manitoba: 300 cases and seven deaths
- Saskatchewan: 650 cases and 11 deaths
- Alberta: 7,138 cases and 146 deaths
- British Columbia: 2,632 cases and 167 deaths
- Yukon: 11 cases and zero deaths
- Northwest Territories: 5 cases and zero deaths (no new cases in 14 days)
- Nunavut: Zero cases
- Repatriated travellers: 13 cases

In Simcoe-Muskoka region, the local health unit has confirmed a total of 486 cases with 410 now recovered and 36 deaths, leaving 40 active cases in Simcoe County and Muskoka.
