The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported three new cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe County today.
A Bradford West-Gwillimbury man in his 40s is a confirmed case, though the transmission source for his case is still under investigation.
In New Tecumseth, a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s have tested positive for the coronavirus. Both are close contacts of a known case or cases.
In Orillia, a patient who has been hospitalized for several weeks has now recovered, leaving one case remaining in Orillia, and the individual is recovering at home.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed 592 cases of the coronavirus in the region to-date, and reported 474 of those cases as recovered. There have been 36 deaths linked to COVID in the region since March.
There are 82 active cases of COVID-19 in the region (77 in Simcoe County), including four people who have been hospitalized with the virus.
The average incidence rate for the province of Ontario is 230.9 cases per 100,000 people, and the rate for Simcoe County is 107.3 cases per 100,000 people.
