The South Simcoe Police Service has completed its 2021 Festive RIDE Campaign, stopping a total of 3,007 vehicles and laying 17 impaired driving charges.

The 2021 Festive RIDE final totals are as follows (with the main 2020 Festive RIDE final totals in brackets):
    •    vehicles stopped - 3,007 (1,211)
    •    impaired driving arrests - 17 (15)
    •    roadside breath tests - 149
    •    roadside drug tests - eight
    •    three-day suspensions (alcohol) - 10
    •    three-day suspensions (novice/young/commercial) - five
    •    three-day suspensions (drug) - six
    •    cannabis readily available - 16
    •    Liquor Licence Act - five
    •    Highway Traffic Act suspend - three
    •    Highway Traffic Act offences - 11
    •    other Criminal Code offences - six

Road safety is a top priority for the South Simcoe Police Service year-round. While the Festive RIDE Campaign has wrapped up, we will continue to have zero tolerance for impaired driving in our communities.
