The fourth annual Light It Up Innisfil event is well underway, as community members can vote for their favourite decorated house until Saturday night.

Categories include the most creative, best inflatables, best light display, and fan favourite.

The annual tradition has continued since now-Coun. Jennifer Richardson started it at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when people had to distance themselves from one another.

“Thank you to the community for your support with another fun event. Our family loves to drive around and see all the houses and holiday spirit,” Richardson said.

This year, 38 houses have been entered into the competition that is sponsored by local businesses including, Goltikli, Moon Café and Craft Beer, Tanger Outlets, Wingin’ It, Susan Dixon of RE/MAX Osborne Goddard Team, Scott Simpson of Spirit Fit, Fork and Plate Family Grill, Innisfil's Domino’s Pizza franchise, Cove Cafe, and Jenny Druery of Tupperware.

Richardson told InnisfilToday that winners will be announced on the Connecting Innisfil Facebook page between 9:30 and 10 p.m. on Dec. 16, after the contest closes. Prizes will be delivered to the winners the following day.

Readers are invited to vote for their favourites here after perusing the competing houses, which are shown on this Google Map.

Proceeds raised — which includes a ‘Raise the Dough’ event on Dec. 14 at Domino’s Pizza (1354 Innisfil Beach Rd.), where $5 from every special ordered will be donated to the cause — will be split between the Innisfil Food Bank and Christmas for Kids.

The deadline for voting is 9 p.m. Check out the Connecting Innisfil Facebook page here.
