Donations rolling in to paramedics' food and toy drive

As of Week 4 of the campaign, more than 1,000 toys, nearly 2,000 lbs of food and $8,700 in donations having been collected

COUNTY OF SIMCOE PARAMEDIC SERVICES

Residents are responding to our call to “give a little, help a lot” as donations are flowing into the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services 21st annual Food and Toy Drive.

To date 1,116 toys, 1,909 lbs of food and $8,705.49 in monetary donations having been collected to help support those in need this holiday season.

Reminder: new, unwrapped toys, food, gift cards and cash will be accepted at various locations across Simcoe County. Visit simcoe.ca/toydrive to learn more.

Residents are also reminded that a little goes a long way and to consider donating virtually by visiting https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/simcoe-county-paramedic-association/.

Over the coming week, paramedics will be collecting donations at the following locations:

Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday Dec. 8
Simcoe County Museum Victorian Christmas ~ 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 9
Bradford Walmart ~ 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Elmvale Foodland ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barrie North Walmart ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barrie South Walmart ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barrie North Toys R Us ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Beeton Foodland ~ 7 to 10:30 a.m.
Beeton Christmas Parade ~ 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 10
Barrie North Walmart ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barrie South Walmart ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barrie North Toys R Us ~ 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Anten Mills Santa Claus Parade ~ 1 to 2 p.m.

Donations can be also made at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre, 1110 Highway 26 in Midhurst and at all County of Simcoe Paramedic Services stations, where outdoor drop boxes are now available (please do not leave monetary donations in drop boxes – only non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys).
