On the bottom of my business card you will read ‘Give what you hope to get’.

I work hard at living by this principle.  I also work hard at having my business run and be guided by this principle.  Let me share what I mean by running my business based on ‘give what you hope to get’.

‘Give what you hope to get’

I hope my social media presence has engagement and is seen!

I get out there and engage on other business pages!  I get out there and share the content of other businesses that I hope my audience will find value in.  I get out there and look for the social media presence of others in our growing business community and take interest in what they are posting.

‘Give what you hope to get’

I hope to gain referrals from others!

I look for opportunities to make connections. If I see someone with a need, I look through our community and my associations and try to match that need with a business that can help.   I make the connection in messenger, via an email, a call, or a tag on social media.  I let the business owner KNOW I have made this connection based on their ability to help – I never assume they will see the tag or know I am the one who may have provided or facilitated this connection.

‘Give what you hope to get’

I hope for positive reviews!

Every day I have a set system of things I try and do consistently for my business and one of those things is to leave a positive review for someone.  At times I can’t speak of the product or service because I have not used it, but I can speak of the value they bring to our business community or how they show up.  I can speak to the warmth of their social media presence or how I have seen them handle or help others.  I leave one review a day.

‘Give what you hope to get’

I hope for fun, laughter, positive vibes from friends.

I reach out and share light items, things of fun, positive quotes.  I do not engage in the negative, nor feed what is already out there circulating.  I do not add fuel to any burning fire I do not want to see grow.

‘Give what you hope to get’

I hope for help when I need it.

I do my best to stay attentive and approachable to and for others.  I answer questions, look for ways I may be able to assist another – I literally watch for the opportunities – not wait till someone has to say help!

We all seem to say “social media is not working for me” – it never will WORK FOR YOU.  You must work it.  We all seem to say, “this is not happening for me” – are you making it happen for another and “giving what you hope to get”.

There is an invisible law of reciprocation, some call it Karma – if you truly believe in this principle you will see the power in ‘giving what you hope to get’.
