It's the last day of the year, and with that comes time for reflection while making plans and resolutions for the future.
InnisfilToday asked Mayor Lynn Dollin and the rest of council to share some of their resolutions to share with our readers.
Here's what they had to say:
Mayor Lynn Dollin
My New Year’s resolutions:
With less than a year left in our council term, to report on the progress of our collective strategic priorities and map out next steps.
To ensure our community stays as safe as possible as we continue to navigate the pandemic. To celebrate the kindness and generosity of our community and to encourage our residents, council and staff to take the time for self-care.
Daniel Davidson, Deputy Mayor
On behalf of the Town of Innisfil and my family, I wish everyone a positive outlook for This New Year! A year of moving forward to old ways where we can gather and celebrate the things we took for granted for way too long and hug each other with hope and love and kindness. Happy 2022!
Donna Orsatti, Ward 3 Councillor
I have a habit of not making resolutions but take time to reflect and focus on the importance of family, friends, good neighbours and community for the coming year. These are what enrich our life and matter most.
Kenneth Fowler, Ward 5 Councillor
My New Year's resolution is very simple... I resolve to continue helping support all our fellow Innisfilians. There are so many whose work boosts morale and keeps the positive energy flowing. We are strongest when we lean into each other against the storm that Covid brings. Happy New Year!
Rob Nicol, Ward 7 Councillor
As we have all weathered an unprecedented pandemic over the past two years, I think that our entire community as a whole has shown great resolve already. As council, we greatly increased our workload to keep the business of the Town fluid, we have supported those around us as well as some we didn’t know personally and have pivoted to adapt as things evolved. Therefore, my resolution for 2022 is to personally dig even deeper, to consciously invest more of my time in our town and to serve my community in an effort to continue to provide some calmness and continuity for all of our residents.
