Innisfil Veterinary Hospital celebrates quarter-century of care

'We had to have our dog put down, which is tragic, but they made it so peaceful. It’s just the compassion that they show. They’re always there,' says client

The Innisfil Veterinary Hospital is celebrating its 25th anniversary today.

Located at 1538 Innisfil Beach Rd., the clinic has been owned by Dr. Amritpal Singh Saini since its grand opening on Dec. 11, 1998.

Saini studied veterinary medicine in India before immigrating to Canada with his wife. He worked as a lead veterinarian at the Barrie OSPCA prior to building and founding the Innisfil Veterinary Hospital, which used to be a fruit market.

“The Innisfil Veterinary Hospital team would like to thank Dr. Saini for his many years of dedication to staff and patients alike," staff members in a joint statement to InnisfilToday. "We have felt like a tight-knit family and are so thankful for Dr. Saini’s care and understanding."

The 15 team members include five veterinarians and 10 support staff, which include veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants and client service representatives.

Their newest employee began working at the clinic last month, while the most seasoned employee, Michelle, is the hospital’s lead registered veterinary technician (RVT) and has been working at the Innisfil Veterinary Hospital since 2000.

Victoria Greenaway and Valerie Redden have been bringing their furry family members to the Innisfil Veterinary Hospital since it opened.

“My experience has been that I’ve always received good care. We have a very good relationship. They’ve always gone above and beyond,” Greenaway said.

“One time, I had a diabetic cat. I couldn’t get insulin, so one of the vets went out of their way to get some. I was so grateful … I wouldn’t go anywhere else," she added.

“My daughter worked for them for 17 years. They’re fabulous people,” Redden said. “They’re so caring. We had to have our dog put down, which is tragic, but they made it so peaceful. It’s just the compassion that they show. They’re always there.”

“Dr. Saini and his team would like to thank the Innisfil and surrounding community for their support and trust in us caring for their fur babies for the last 25 years and look forward to continuing to serve the community for many years to come,” the staff said.

They told InnisfilToday that the majority of animals that the hospital cares for are dogs and cats, but small pets such as guinea pigs and rabbits are tended to as well. They serviced approximately 12,600 clients/patients throughout 2023, and 625 new clients joined their practice this year.

“To the Innisfil community, we would like to thank you for your continued trust in us with your beloved pets. We are honoured to have been part of the community for the past 25 years.”
