Ivy church fundraiser brings in $4K for Fresh Food Weekly

Money will help provide food to families in Barrie, Innisfil areas

CHRIST CHURCH ST. JUDE’S

On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, the congregation of Christ Church St. Jude’s, Ivy, provided a roast beef dinner in the Ivy Orange Hall, which raised $4,002 for Fresh Food Weekly.

Fresh Food Weekly provides perishable food to families in need in the Barrie/Innisfil area. With the funds raised, 300 families were able to enjoy a fresh turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanks has to be given to Cherrie Banting-Wrobel and her committee for making this event happen with the help of all church members.

A live auction was held, which included a quilt donated by the family of the late June Money, who was a very active member of our church, and a beautiful hand-crafted table by one of our current members. In addition, several beautiful baskets were contributed by local suppliers in the area awarded to winners of the raffle. Special thank you to the Jazz Byrds for their music.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions and dedication to make this a successful event.
