Organizers are expecting dozens of people to take part in the Run for Innisfil, organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, this coming weekend.

Sunday's event will raise money for Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre's south campus project in Innisfil.

"The run attracts participants from all walks of life across Innisfil and the surrounding regions," organizers said in a release.

The Run for Innisfil is part of a nationwide initiative by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, which includes dozens of charity runs in various cities and towns across the country. The events attract all age groups, especially the youth, to run, jog or walk to support their community.

For registration and more information about the Run for Innisfil, visit RunForInnisfil.ca.

It will take place Sunday, Sept. 24 beginning at 10 a.m., at Innisfil Beach Park, located at 676 Innisfil Beach Rd.

A similar event, the second annual, is being held at Centennial Park in Barrie on Oct. 8. Last year's inaugural event boasted around 150 participants.

Participants in the Barrie run are encouraged to begin arriving on site at 9 a.m. To register for that event or to donate, visit www.RunForBarrie.ca.
