Neighbourhood Nights begins this evening in Ward 2

'It is an honour for me to meet and thank the residents of Ward 2 for believing in me,' says Coun. Grace Constantine

Neighbourhood Nights returns to Innisfil on Tuesday (May 30) at the Morgan Russell Memorial Arena and Community Centre, located in Lefroy at 1354 Killarney Beach Rd., from 6-8 p.m.

In addition to free activities for families as provided by the town, Ward 2 Coun. Grace Constantine says she looks forward to greeting community members this evening, as residents are welcome to attend and meet their local councillor.

A new member on the Innisfil town council, Constantine told InnisfilToday that running for public office is the best thing she’s ever done and she’s proud to assist the diverse community of constituents that include young professionals, new families and seniors who call Ward 2 home.

Constantine regularly meets community members who recall getting to know her when she knocked on their doors throughout her campaign. Constantine now brings her rich experience in customer service and problem-solving from her career in the financial industry to her role in the municipality.

The daughter of a war veteran, Constantine’s family history in the military spans generations. Her brother served in the Jamaican army and one of her three sons is an engineer in the Royal Canadian Navy, who served one tour in Afghanistan and was also stationed in Europe.

Constantine says she and her family became familiar with the area when they visited her son at CFB Borden. Her daughter-in-law’s family cottage in Innisfil piqued their interest and influenced their decision to make the move from Brampton seven years ago.

“It is an honour for me to meet and thank the residents of Ward 2 for believing in me,” Constantine said. “All telephone calls and emails that I have received are treated respectfully and (I) try to find a solution to resolve their concerns.”

Neighbourhood Nights will run through July 2023, and the town says its Mobile Youth Centre will be on-site to offer life-size board games, lawn games, and more. People can also meet with town staff and community partners including the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, InnPower and InnServices.

The second Neighbourhood Night will be held June 5 in Ward 3 with Coun. Jennifer Richardson at the Innisfil Town Square, followed by Coun. Linda Zanella’s Ward 5 at Leonard’s Beach on June 6.
