NEWS RELEASE

Even though the school year is coming to an end, Glowing Hearts Charity has already been working hard to prepare for September with its Backpacks For Youth program, and now they are excited to announce that nominations for the filled backpacks are now open.

When Glowing Hearts Charity first started planning, the initial goal was to distribute 150 backpacks to youth in Simcoe County.

Thanks to the generosity of funders including Campus Priority, Jack Garner Foundation, McDougall Insurance, Sybran Property Maintenance, and Telus, they have far surpassed this, and are able to expand their reach with at least 550 backpacks to distribute.

“Filling this many backpacks with much-needed supplies is a costly endeavour,” said Sarah Fleming, Board Chair, “and with community safety being paramount, we are requesting monetary donations this year to facilitate the bulk-purchasing of what is needed for our children and youth to start off the year on the right track.”
