One person injured in north-end Barrie blaze, home destroyed

Fire brought under control with all occupants escaping; investigators heading to scene

An early morning house fire in north-end Barrie caused significant damage, with one person suffering minor injuries.

Barrie Fire and Emergency Service crews got a call around 4 a.m. on April 17 for a blaze at 56 Geddes Cres., near Livingstone Street West and Sunnidale Road, deputy chief Derek Wilson confirmed.

Everyone inside the home escaped the blaze, with one person suffering minor injuries. They were treated by paramedics at the scene.

Vehicles in the driveway of the home also sustained significant damage due to the fire.

The origin and cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, and investigators are heading to the scene, said Wilson.
