ALLISTON, ONT. - On Feb. 25, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) participated in supporting S.H.I.F.T. (Support and Hope for Individuals and Families Today) in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event in Alliston, New Tecumseth.

Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, Nottawasaga OPP members walked to raise awareness of the hungry, homeless and hurting people and families in our community. S.H.I.F.T. is a non-profit organization located in Alliston, Ont. that provides safe, respectful, and welcoming emergency overnight accommodation, meals and supports to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity.

The CNOY is S.H.I.F.T.'s largest annual fundraising event and a family-friendly walk (two km or five km) where folks team up, fundraise, walk and gather to raise awareness. All proceeds raised directly benefit S.H.IF.T., which runs three vital programs, including an outreach program, daytime drop-in program, and emergency overnight shelter program.

Fundraising is taking place until March 31. For more information on how you can donate, please visit cnoy.org/alliston.
