Shoppers Drug Mart Alliston, Angus and Beeton locations presented a cheque for $7,770 to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation from their Shoppers LOVE. YOU Growing Women’s Health Campaign.

For the last few campaigns, the Alliston location has combined their fundraising efforts with the Angus store and has raised more than $20,000 in total for the Hospital.

This year’s campaign supported local women’s wellness by purchasing a Colposcope for Stevenson’s Obstetrics & Gynecological Clinic. This vital piece of equipment is used during procedures that examine the cervix.

The Shoppers LOVE. YOU Growing Women’s Health Campaign runs every fall, where Shoppers Drug Mart customers are able to purchase symbolic leaves, butterflies, apples, and birds for the tree displayed on the store window for $1, $5, $10 or $50 to support women’s health initiatives.

“Our staff and customers are thrilled that we can continue to help in such a big way, and to make a meaningful difference in our community. Focusing on local women’s health is a continued passion of the Shoppers Drug Mart brand,” Jonathan Tam, Pharmacist/Owner of Shoppers Drug Mart Alliston. “We hope that the purchase of the new equipment for SMH’s Obstetrics & Gynecological Clinic will have a lasting impact on the care that women can receive right in our own community”.

Shoppers Drug Mart’s national campaign has raised over $74 million since 2002 with 100 per cent of all proceeds benefiting local women’s health ranging from improving services at local hospitals to supporting mental health programs. Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation is grateful for Shoppers Drug Mart’s continued support.

In October, 2019 the SMH Foundation launched a $43 million Capital Campaign Because of you, we can in support of the Hospital’s redevelopment project, as well as critical equipment and technology upgrades. The hospital relies on the support of the community for enhancements to infrastructure, equipment, and technology.
