Sometimes all that is needed is a small 'twist'

“E-transfer is the easiest, but I do accept credit cards – which is easier for you?”
“I can see you are excited about this!  Here is my email for an E-transfer!”
“I just need your signature and we can get started.”
“Can you authorize this with your name here and I’ll get to work.”

I just said the exact same thing in four different ways – I want your business and am ready so let’s get started!

This brings me to these questions:

Are you talking at people or are you talking with them?
Are you selling to clients or providing them with an opportunity to purchase?
Are you pushing information at folks or educating them?
Are you sharing what “YOU” can do or what “THEY” will experience and gain?

Here are some examples where small twists in language can help make your interactions with prospective clients more focused around them:

“I need a few minutes of your time” versus “Do you have a few minutes?”
‘I need a few minutes’ is all about you and your needs and let’s face it, many folks are just plain tapped out right now.  The second approach of ‘Do you have a few minutes?’ makes people feel empowered, now it is in their control and their decision!

“I can give you great service and products and I can make them affordable”  versus “You will receive the treatment you deserve and some products you will be so happy with.  You will save some money.”   The focus is off “I” and onto “YOU”.  It must be all about them – always.

Small twists!
Be attentive to your approach.  Our intention does not have to change just the approach.
