TRILLIUM TALK: Behind the scenes of Bonnie Crombie's big win

In a special Monday edition of our weekly briefing from Queen's Park, Jessica Smith Cross of The Trillium explains what is next for the new leader of the Ontario Liberals

Welcome to a special edition of “Trillium Talk,” a weekly briefing from Village Media’s team of journalists at Queen’s Park.

The Ontario Liberal Party elected a new leader over the weekend: Bonnie Crombie, the mayor of Mississauga.

The four-candidate contest was decided Saturday on the final ballot under the Ontario Liberals’ new ranked ballot system. Crombie was the leader after the first and second rounds of ballot counts and then secured enough support from third-place finisher Yasir Naqvi’s voters to give her the victory.

Joining us to break down Crombie’s victory — and other big news from the Ontario Legislature last week — is Jessica Smith Cross, Editor-in-Chief of The Trillium.
